THE PEARL
OF AFRICA CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Saturday 19th November 2011 7.30pm till 9.30pm
at Milton Hall Baptist Church
This internationally acclaimed choir from
Uganda, one of the world’s poorest
nations, is performing to raise much needed funds to provide thousands
of orphaned and destitute children with food, shelter and education.
The talented singers, dancers and drummers who form the choir are
touring the UK in the autumn
to support the work of the ‘Molly and Paul Foundation’ which aims to
give young Ugandans a safe place to live and a chance of an education.
The ‘Molly and Paul Foundation’ provides free or subsidised education
to over 2500 children in 7 schools in the districts of
Kampala
and Masaka. There is also a children’s village with 9 orphanage homes in
the bush village
of Kamazinda. The
children’s village includes a farm school which thanks to generous UK
donations over the last 4 years is now helping to feed the children in
the orphanages and is working toward becoming sustainable. There is also
a clinic providing primary healthcare to the community.
Last year the choir were in the
UK
for 2 months raising funds to provide food and teachers’ salaries.
Please support this group of hard working young people and make a
difference to lives in
Uganda.
Donations are invited after the concert when traditional crafts from Uganda will be available for
purchase.
